Armenia's Commitment to a Sustainable Future

As a member state of the United Nations, Armenia is dedicated to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - a global call to action to end poverty, protect the environment and climate, and ensure peace and prosperity for all. These goals guide the UN's work in Armenia, addressing critical challenges while fostering sustainable growth.

Armenia's First Net-Zero Ready Development

At the World Trade Center Yerevan, we share Armenia's commitment to the SDGs. As the country moves toward its ambitious target of reducing economy-wide greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 40% by 2030, WTCY aligns with these national priorities while also embracing global sustainability commitments.

Our Commitment

Our developments will be designed to meet the highest standards of quality, innovation, and environmental responsibility - contributing meaningfully to Armenia's sustainability journey.

Our Approach

Blending innovation, efficiency, and global best practices, we are creating a landmark that:

  • Embodies resilience, sustainability, and excellence
  • Integrates responsible design and net-zero ambitions
  • Supports community well-being through thoughtful, future-proof urban spaces

Leading the Way to a Net-Zero Future

With community-focused initiatives and climate-responsive design, we are setting a new standard for sustainable urban development - crafting architectural icons that define skylines and lead the way toward a net-zero future.

Our Actions

Through energy-efficient design, renewable energy integration, and resource-conscious strategies, WTCY contributes to a greener, more sustainable future for the nation. Aligned with WTCY's mission to set a new standard in sustainable development, the project integrates passive and active design strategies that mitigate climate challenges while enhancing energy efficiency and occupant comfort.  These principles support Armenia's national climate goals while advancing the project's ambition to achieve LEED Gold, WELL Gold, and/or BREEAM Excellent certification — embedding sustainability into every facet of the development.

Net-Zero As The New Normal

The World Trade Center Yerevan directly supports several of the UN SDGs, including:

  • Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being – Ensuring clean air, safe water, comfortable lighting, optimised shading, thermal comfort, MEP systems designed to mitigate heatwaves or cold waves, smoke-free space for all occupants.
  • Goal 6: Clean Water & Sanitation – Integrating advanced water management systems, efficient fixtures, including rainwater harvesting, smart meters and leakage control․
  • Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy – Implementing energy-efficient systems and renewable energy integration to minimize environmental impact.
  • Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure – Creating Grade A, future-proof commercial and residential spaces that foster economic growth and innovation.
  • Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities – Designing with sustainability, accessibility, and resilience at the forefront, including maximum seismic safety.
  • Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – Prioritizing sustainable materials, waste reduction, and resource efficiency in every stage of development.
  • Goal 13: Climate Action – Achieving net-zero emissions through sustainable design, operations, and long-term environmental stewardship.
  • Goal 15: Life on Land – Biodiversity and elevated green infrastructure, innovative biophilic facade and sensory design, shaded outdoor spaces, nature-based solutions mobility and transport.
